It was a great night for Dr Ling Shih Gang, who was declared winner of the contest organised by Star Media Group Bhd in collaboration with Carlsberg Malaysia on Friday night at the Movida Sunway Giza.
His dream of winning a whirlwind trip to France to witness a semi-final match of the ongoing European football championship came true after defeating nine other finalists, including his older brother Shih Shiun in a series of challenges.
The doctor was the fastest participant in the first physical challenge despite being among the older participants.
In the following football trivia round, the brothers showed that they were in a class of their own.
Dr Ling said having his older brother in the finals put him in a more relaxed state.
"I watched Liverpool play in Anfield but this is definitely going to be much better than that," he said.
"I hope to watch Germany play in the semi-finals as I like their style of play," he added.
Star Media Group chief operating officer Calvin Kan and Carlsberg Malaysia managing director Henrik Juel Andersen were present to witness the contest held in conjunction with the launch of The Star’s special UEFA Euro 2016 pullout.
