Neither Italy nor Sweden made it into the Euro 2016 semi-finals but the two nations will be well represented after Nicola Rizzoli and Jonas Eriksson were named as the referees for the tournament's respective last four clashes.

Eriksson, who presided over Sevilla's Europa League final win over Liverpool, has been handed Wednesday's encounter between Wales and Portugal having already officiated Chris Coleman's side earlier in the competition.

Rizzoli also has form with competing nations as he prepares to take charge of Germany and France's highly-anticipated clash on Thursday, having run the rule over both the host nation and the world champions in recent times.

He refereed the host nation's last 16 victory over the Republic of Ireland in June as well as Germany's World Cup triumph over Argentina in 2014.

The 44-year-old's other previous accolades include the 2013 Champions League final as well as the inaugural Europa League showpiece in 2010.
