THREE CUBS Euro 2016: Former Liverpool ace Jamie Carragher believes English football has turned roaring Three Lions into babies

JAMIE CARRAGHER has accused English football of turning men into BABIES.

The former Liverpool and England ace delivered a damning verdict on the Three Lions after their humiliating exit from Euro 2016 at the hands of Iceland.

Roy Hodgson resigned immediately but Carragher insists the players should also carry the can for another abject effort.

Carra rapped: "England's players have become too soft. Soft physically and soft mentally.

"We saw the end result in all its gruesome detail on Monday when another major tournament ended in calamity and blame.

"It's never the players' fault when England crash out of a competition, is it? Well, it's time to explode that myth.

"I was in South Africa in 2010. I heard all the complaints about Fabio Capello and his strict methods and all the grumblings about the base we stayed in being too isolated.

"The complaints were bull****.  We came home early because we were not good enough. England deserved to go out then, just as we deserved to go out here.

"The weakness that runs through England squads is only getting worse. They were confronted by three pressure situations in Euro 2016 and each time they cracked.

"In those moments you can't keep looking over to the bench for instructions. You make your own decisions.

"This is where I lose patience and why I call some of the squad too soft. They have been sheltered and their agents have now almost assumed the role of mothers.

"They have been pampered from a young age, had money thrown at them and when things have gone wrong, they have been told it's never their fault.

"So when I heard suggestions the senior players were unhappy with Roy Hodgson's training I was incensed."

Steven Gerrard claims the national team dressing room is gripped by fear.

The ex-Liverpool and England skipper said: "There is a culture of fear within and it has not been addressed.

"You know the eyes of the world are on you. The pressure is another level.

"I saw young players who could not cope with that."
