Wales face Marc Wilmots' men in Lille tomorrow for a place in the semi-finals of Euro 2016.

The sides have met four times in qualifying for the last two major tournaments with Wales undefeated in the last three.

Bale said: "We're like their bogey team aren't we?

"We understand they are a good team but we have had good results against them.

"Hopefully that edge gets into their heads - you never know. It's about two teams on the night - how well we both perform on the night.

"We will definitely draw on our experiences against them during the qualifying campaigns, it gives us more knowledge on them.

"We know how to play against them and how they play. We know it will be a different game from the qualifiers and it is a more pressurised situation, but we understand what they are about and how they work.

"We will hone our gameplan to try and stop them but help our attack."

Wales have picked up two draws in Brussels and a famous win in Cardiff when Bale was the matchwinner 12 months ago.

And he has warned Eden Hazard and co that Wales will be an even tougher proposition this time round.

"From that night, from beating Belgium, we have gone up to another level," said the £85m man.

"We've taken our game on with playing more games in our system, gelling even more. It was a changing moment for us."

Wilmots admits it is impossible to prepare to take on Bale - the joint top scorer in France on three goals.

"Bale has a free position, he can appear down the sides of the field as well as in the centre," said Wilmots.

"It is therefore impossible to know where he will come from.

"So it is not a matter of simply attaching a player to man-mark him, you have to try and neutralise him collectively.

"He is a world class player and Wales are an adversary it is difficult to manoeuvre against.

"Their evolution has a team in recent years has been truly impressive.

"They will use five defenders and look to gobble up any available space. They have a talented and experienced midfield and Bale."
