Wales boss Chris Coleman insists he already know Roy Hodgson's England gameplan for Euro 2016

Coleman's Wales side face Northern Ireland at Cardiff City Stadium tonight in a fixture designed to prepare the Dragons' players for their eagerly-awaited 'Battle of Britain' against the Three Lions in Lens.

But their manager does not require any lessons about what to expect in the heat of a Home Nations tussle and is confident he knows exactly what to expect from Hodgson's men come the summer.

Coleman's comments will do little to assuage the England manager's critics, who have accused the former Liverpool manager of being too predictable tactically and in terms of selection.

And, even though the sparkling form of talents such as Harry Kane, Jamie Vardy, Dele Alli and Ross Barkley had hinted at the potential for a youthful, vibrant England side, Coleman does not see an upcoming change in approach.

It means he will not feel the need to dash back from his side's game against Ukraine in Kiev on Monday in order to watch England face Holland at Wembley 24 hours later.

"I know Roy very well, he rarely changes tactically, he is a very thorough manager and coach and he believes in what he believes in," said Coleman.

"He will not change things against Holland, and they will not change how they play. If they were going to change formation drastically it would be something I would study but I don't think that is going to happen.

"We all know what England will bring to the Euros, I do not see that changing. We do not have to scout them the same way we would scout other sides. We are not being disrespectful to a team of their quality but we know all about them.

"We see their players every week, I know Roy and Ray Lewington very well. I have seen them many times and they do not do things differently.

"They do not change things much, we will do our homework but it is not a team we need to scrutinise like Slovakia and Russia."

While the England meeting will be at the forefront of many Welsh minds, Coleman still has decisions to make over the final places up for grabs in his final 23-man selection for a first major tournament in 58 years.

The absence of the likes of Gareth Bale, Aaron Ramsey, James Collins and Andy King this week is hardly an ideal scenario in the last get-together before the squad is named. But it ensures Coleman will get to run the rule over several fringe players with uncapped goalkeeper Danny Ward, full-back Adam Matthews, winger George Williams and striker Sam Vokes to be given the chance to stake their claim.

Several of Northern Ireland's squad will find themselves facing a similar scenario and the home side are readying themselves for the sort of full-blooded confrontation Coleman is desperate for his players to experience.

"We want it to be feisty. We don't get any points but we do not want people going in 60 or 70 per cent, you will run the risk of getting injured," said the 45-year-old.

"Every tackle you have to be 100 per cent, if it is there to be made you have to make it. We are playing for Wales and we have to give our all.

"No matter who we play against or what team we have on the pitch we need the intent and the attitude that there are points on it. This game can be no different.

"You never want to lose to a neighbouring country and I know Michael O'Neill and the mentality of the Northern Irish.

"They will not be coming here thinking it is a warm-up game. It will be a proper game. I am not saying anything naughty will happen but we want both teams to be at it and British teams like to roll their sleeves up.

"It is a big chance for guys to stake a claim. We have players missing but it gives other lads an opportunity."

Wales will be looking to continue their excellent record against Northern Ireland having gone unbeaten in the fixture in 36 years and seven meetings dating back to a 1-0 loss at Ninian Park back in 1980.
