DO THE DANCE Antoine Griezmann celebration: Why does the France star celebrate his goals like he does?

ANTOINE GRIEZMANN'S celebration has been a familiar sight in Euro 2016.

The France star has scored six goals, including two in the semi-final against Germany, to help fire the hosts into the final of the tournament.

But why does he celebrate like that?

The simple answer: he is copying rapper Drake's dance from the hit track Hotline Bling.

Griezmann forgot to do the celebration – which he has been doing since last season – in the opening matches of the competition.

He did manage to remember it after scoring the winner against the Republic of Ireland.

He said: "That's a dance from the video to Drake's Hotline Bling.

"I've been doing it when I score for Atletico and I should have done it when I scored against Albania, but the emotion was too much and I forgot about it.
"The same thing happened when I equalised against Ireland. For the second goal, I remembered."

Griezmann used the celebration all of last season when he scored a whopping 32 goals for Atletico Madrid.

Griezmann opened the scoring against Germany from the penalty spot before poking home the second to set up a meeting with Portugal.

Griezmann became the first player since Michel Platini in 1984 to score six goals in a tournament.

The hosts are also unbeaten in their last 10 matches against Sunday's opponents Portugal.
