Chris Coleman's Dragons are preparing to face off with the Portuguese in Lyon on Wednesday night as they chase a place in Sunday's Euro 2016 final.

Wales shocked even their own fans by getting to the semi-finals and their performance in beating Belgium at the quarter-finals stage was arguably their best in 140 years of international competition.

But Bale, 26, believes there is still plenty of improvement to come and hopes to show his Real Madrid team-mate just what Wales are capable of.
"We certainly hope we can get better," said the £86m man.

"We have been having meetings to talk about the areas we can improve on.

"We know we played a good game against an incredible team in Belgium, but we still want to keep progressing, we still want to keep improving.

"If we can improve those little one percenters all the way through the team and the performance it will only help our game.

"You can never be totally satisfied, you can always improve in football.

"Whatever level you are at, that is what we will keep trying to do on Wednesday."

Wales' progress has been such that Chris Gunter and his parents will have to miss his brother Marc's wedding.

Joe Ledley may have to postpone his own nuptials and manager Coleman could miss the birth of his second child with wife Charlotte.

But Bale always felt this Welsh side were capable of achieving something special in France, and even booked holidays to start after the tournament.

"I wasn't invited to Joe's wedding but none of us can go now anyway," said Bale.

"I always believed we had a chance of going a long way in the tournament, that's why I booked my holiday to start on July 11th.

"You see the fairytale of Greece and Denmark winning the competition and you think - why can't we do it?"
