BACKING: Glenn backed Hodgson

Speculation is mounting that Hodgson will be sacked if the Three Lions fail to make it to the Euro 2016 semi-finals.

England face minnows Iceland in the last 16 with Hodgson knowing his job is on the line.

He has made life difficult for himself after failing to win Group B to leave England in the toughest half of the draw.

But Glenn insists Hodgson will be ok provided his side keep making progress under his leadership.

Glenn said: "Roy has my total support. I am here to help make sure Roy has got everything that he needs to prepare.

"We have got fantastic facilities here as you see. The preparation up and to the Euros and has been faultless.

"I actually don't know where these stories are coming from. They don't come from me, they don't come from the chairman.

"So I think it is speculation in those idle hours in between games.

"He has our full support, he has been a great manager and I think we are going to do great things in this tournament.

"We want to just see progress, that is all we have said all along. This is a building team.

"We should turn up to every tournament being prepared to win it.

"So I don't see a tournament as just a stepping stone but it is a developing squad. It is the youngest squad that we have had in a generation.

"I think we will continue to see improvement, so yes we need to show progress and then take a view from there."
