The French football team was welcomed to the Elysee Palace in Paris by President Francois Hollande on Monday (11th July).

France's Euro 2016 squad paid a visit to the Elysee Palace on Monday (11th July), a day on from their defeat to Portugal in the final.

Francois Hollande greeted the squad, as they posed for photos on the Palace steps.

Hollande was at the Stade de France on Sunday night where he witnessed France's 1-0 defeat.

Portugal substitute Eder broke French hearts with a goal in extra time after a tense final.

Despite their disappointment in defeat, France can be proud of their Euro 2016 efforts.
