Fans gathered in Paris city centre on Sunday afternoon (10th July) ahead of the Euro 2016 final between tournament hosts France and Portugal at the Stade de France.

France and Portugal fans have been gathering outside the Stade de France since late morning on Sunday (10th July) ahead of the final of Euro 2016.

With the final of Euro 2016 just hours away, fans of France and Portugal have started to arrive at both the fan zone in Paris and the Stade de France.

At a food market nearby, French flags were clearly visible for all to see as locals get into the spirit ahead of the showdown.

Not only are flags present at shops, everyone from the shopkeepers to dogs are putting their patriotism on display.

France are seeking their first European Championship title since Euro 2000, while Portugal will be looking to lift the trophy for the first time, having lost the Euro 2004 final when they hosted the tournament.

At the stadium itself, fans began to arrive, many having travelled far and wide in order to show their support.

Unfortunately, France's unofficial mascot, Balthazar the cockerel, won't be present at the match, UEFA telling his owner that no animals will be allowed in the stadium.

This despite hints that he might well have been present for France's six previous matches at the competition...fans and players of the host nation will be hoping he hasn't been their good luck charm.

The match kicks off at 7pm UK time.
