Players privileged to be in final - Deschamps
2016-07-09 23:25:00 from:SNTVFrance coach Didier Deschamps, captain Hugo Lloris and defender Bacary Sagna on Saturday (9th July) looked ahead to the Euro 2016 final against Portugal.
SOUNDBITE: (French) Didier Deschamps, France coach (on the prospect of winning the European Championship):
"It's always tough to win titles, to win trophies. Winning with a national side is even harder because there are only two tournaments you can win and you play against the best teams in the world. We need to seize this opportunity without thinking about what might happen going forward. The players are aware of the privilege to be playing for the European Championship tomorrow and we are at home in Paris."
SOUNDBITE: (French) Didier Deschamps, France coach (asked about the threat of Cristiano Ronaldo):
"If there is a plan to deal with Ronaldo no one has yet found the recipe. He is a top player and has great athletic attributes in the air. It's not just that he can leap high, it's that he can hang there as well. His muscles, his six-pack is there for a reason. There are two things that are very tough to combat in football, pace and the aerial threat. It would be great to limit his influence of course. We need to be wary, but try to do this."
