Wales and Portugal fans gathered in the centre of Lyon ahead of their Euro 2016 semi-final at the Parc Olympique Lyonnais on Wednesday

It's been billed as the Bale v Ronaldo semi-final.

With the countdown to the kick-off of the first semi-final at Euro 2016, thousands of Wales and Portugal fans poured into the streets of Lyon.

Chris Coleman's Wales side have exceeded expections by advancing to the last four of a major tournament for the first time. And while the fans continue to enjoy the thrilling ride, they have no intention of going home just yet.

SOUNDBITE (English) Thomas Slowcombe and Reese Slowcombe from Cardiff:

Thomas Slowcombe: "Am I dreaming? I just don't know."

Reese Slowcombe: "Unbelievable. Even just to get here. Get out of the group stages and then keep going. Belgium was unbelievable. Now we are in dreamland. Four days away from the final if we make it tonight, so don't take me home."

While Wales have impressed at this summer's tournament, Portugal have underwhelmed, Ronaldo and his team-mates have yet to win a match without going to penalties.

SOUNDBITE (Portuguese) Pedro Oliveira, from Coimbra:

"Tonight Portugal will win 2-0. One goal will be scored by (Ricardo) Quaresma and (Cristiano) Ronaldo will add another one. And we'll get to the final."

SOUNDBITE (English) Chris Evans, Wales fan from Liverpool:

"I think we will win. If we could have picked a team out of France, Germany and Portugal for the semi-final, I would have gone for Portugal. They can't score in normal time and we are scoring goals. We've got (Gareth) Bale. Ashley Williams will have (Cristiano) Ronaldo in his pocket."
Wales will be looking to create history when the eagerly anticipated first semi-final match kicks off on Thursday evening at the Stade de Lyon.
