Hungary's national football team were given a hero's welcome by fans in Budapest following their return from the European Championship in France.

Hungary's Euro 2016 squad returned from France to a hero's welcome on Monday (27th June).

Thousands of fans gathered in Budapest to applaud the squad after their impressive performance, in what was the country's first tournament appearance since the 1986 World Cup.

Hungary's time in France was ended by Belgium in the last 16 on Sunday (26th June).

Belgium ran out 4-0 winners, but Hungary can look back proudly on their campaign.

Bernd Stock's side topped their group ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal, and beat neighbours Austria.

Those who gathered in Budapest on Monday will be hoping this is a new dawn for the national team.
