Gudjohnsen looking ahead after 'disappointing' Hungary draw
2016-06-20 06:36:00 from:SNTVIceland's Eidur Gudjohnsen talked at their team base camp in Annecy on Sunday (19th June) - less than 24 hours after the 1-1 draw against Hungary in Marseille.
SOUNDBITE (Icelandic): Eidur Gudjohnsen, Iceland striker:
"Well, that's just a little disappointing, of course, to hold on for so long and then concede a goal in the last few minutes of the game was very disappointing, and it's a hard pill to swallow. But then we woke up the next day, and perhaps realised that the way the game played out we sort of invited this pressure, and we realised that a draw wasn't such a terrible result. Yet a victory would have taken us even further forward."
SOUNDBITE (Icelandic): Eidur Gudjohnsen, Iceland striker:
"Yes, of course I was disappointed (with the draw against Hungary). It was at the very end of the game and the ball fell before me and I was just focusing on hitting it as best I could. But unfortunately somebody got in the way so the ball went just past the post instead of into the goal. Then the game was just finished, so you hardly had time to be disappointed in the stadium. Afterwards, we wished we had been a bit luckier with this, but there'll be another moment after this one."
