Mignolet talks Ireland clash & PL fixtures
2016-06-16 06:59:00 from:SNTVSimon Mignolet believes that Belgium's defeat to Italy will act as a wake up call & insists the national side are ready to respond. The Liverpool goalkeeper also spoke of today's Premier League fixture announcement.
"Well, after the defeat initially it is always disappointment and that was the initial feeling. After that you have to take the lessons of that game, be positive and look forward to the next one. It comes around pretty quickly - so we have got Ireland on Saturday. It is a really good team, lots of players from the Premier League so we know them. My old manager as well - Martin O' Neil from Sunderland. So together with the coaching staff it will be nice to see them again on Saturday. We will have to try to beat them and it is three important points to do that first."
"Yeah it is something positive. It can only push you on and can only make you better so the competition for places you will always have at the highest level and that is something that is really good I think. It is the same here as well - for every position and every place and there is more than enough people who can do the job when needed and that is what you need to have a good team."
"Yeah exactly. I saw it briefly this morning. It is the same fixture as last year (versus Arsenal) so looking forward to that. First we have got the Euros and we will focus on what will come with Liverpool."
