Spain head coach Vicente del Bosque gave his verdicts on Monday (13th June) following a slender 1-0 win for the defending champions courtesy of Gerard Pique's late header.

"To win today was very important. That is the only important thing to win and get the three points. The objective for the game was to dispense of the rival. We want to finish the first round as quickly as possible and for the future (in the tournament) we are very optimisitc.
