Italy trained at Stade de Lyon on Sunday (12th June) and looked forward to their Group E opener against Belgium on Monday (13th June).

(Q: Belgian coach Marc Wilmots said earlier that you have a warrior squad, what do you think of it?):

"If I'm honest we really hope that tomorrow's match will be a fantastic contest. I think there will be 46 warriors on the pitch, 23 of us, 23 of them. I don't think there will be only warriors on one side. This competition is so important, you can feel on the back of your neck how important it is. And everyone will try to be warriors on both side of the field. It's very important to be warriors, we need to have our heads switched on and we need to put on the field what we've all prepared these few weeks."

(Q: What do you think about Belgium?):

"I don't think there is so much to be said about Belgium because of the ability they have in their side. For now and for the future they've got some top players with great qualities and football abilities. So congratulations to Belgium because that shows they're working very well on that in the country. Clearly, I'm not going to give names here but you just have to take a look at the squad. Not only the starting 11 but also the bench to see the capacity on their side which as I say once again is one of the favourites to win the European Championship."
