SOUNDBITE (French): Bernard Cazeneuve, French interior minister
"The events that took place in Marseille on Saturday evenig are unacceptable. Unacceptable for the public authorities, unacceptable for the society, unacceptable for football lovers. We have witnessed violence between supporters provoked by drunk hordes."
SOUNDBITE: (French) Bernard Cazeneuve, French interior minister:
"I welcome the decision from the UEFA today to sanction the teams whose pseudo-supporters are responsible for these actions. Those who have pathetically distinguished themselves in the stadium are the same ones as those who wanted to create chaos in the city centre and in the old port. These violent groups use sports as a pretext. There mustn't be any indulgence for them from the federations and the sports governing bodies."
SOUNDBITE: (French) Bernard Cazeneuve, French interior minister
"Several prefects have already imposed restrictions on the sale, transport and consumption of alcohol. "I asked them to take all useful measures aimed at prohibiting the sale, drinking and transport of alcoholic drinks within sensitive areas on the eve and days of matches and on days when fan zones are open."
