2016-06-13 01:59:00 from:SNTVGerman and Ukrainian football fans mingle in Lille ahead of their Euro 2016 meeting on Sunday (11th June).
Hundreds of German and Ukrainian football fans started gathering in Lille on Sunday ahead of the countries' first match at the UEFA European Championship.
Fans walked quietly through the town's streets without any of the tension and violence that broke out over the last few days in Marseille.
For the Ukraine fans, there seemed to be just one concern: to beat Germany.
SOUNDBITE: (English) Serghei Pawlik, Ukraine fan:
"We hope to get at least one point in the game with Germany, but also we've got the games with (Northern) Ireland and with Poland, so we hope to go through this group and have a great success at this Euro."
Both sets of fans said they were only concerned with football matters and neither seemed concerned about possible violence erupting in Lille.
SOUNDBITE (English) Evgueny Popko, Ukraine fan:
"Well it's like a very big event here, and it's like a party for everybody. So (violence) it doesn't frighten me and my friends, my family. So everything is fine, we are here, we are happy to be here. It's a very big event."
The German team is on a quest for a record fourth European title, only two years after winning a fourth World Cup.
