Tens of thousands of Parisians and tourists flooded the Champ de Mars on Thursday (9th June) for the opening of the Paris Fan Zone.

A day before the opening match of Euro 2016 between France and Romania, tens and thousands of fans flocked to the centre of Paris for the opening of the city's official Fan Zone.

The world famous DJ David Guetta will perform in the temporary venue that can host up to 100,000 spectators.

Only seven months after a wave of terrorist attacks that killed 130 people, a large police presence was deployed all around the Fan Zone performing bags and body searches.

Alexane Seurre was near the bar "La Belle Equipe" when the attacks happened, yet seven months after she didn't hesitate to join the crowd at the Fan Zone, despite the heavy security.

"Me and my friend were near Rue de Charonne on November 11th. And it is true that on a day like this you think about it. Friends tell us to be careful, to warn them if anything happens. But on the other hand we are not going to stop our lives. This is a party, a celebration, this is Paris and we will not change our way of life."

Thousands of fans are expected at Fan Zones across the country- as supporters really get in the spirit of Euro 2016.
