Iordanescu acknowledges France are favourites
2016-06-10 15:13:00 from:SNTVRomania head coach Anghel Iordanescu believes his side can challenge France in the Euro 2016 opener on Friday (10th June) despite tipping the hosts as one of the tournament favourites.
SOUNDBITE (Romanian) Anghel Iordanescu, Romania manager:
"Clearly the French players are going to play in front of a full house and in front of the entire country. I believe France has only lost one of their last 10 matches. Given the quality and ability of the players, I think they are one of the favourites of this tournament."
SOUNDBITE (Romanian) Anghel Iordanescu, Romania manager:
"I don't think we should focus on just one player, because they have quality across their defence, midfield and attack. We need to be aware that the French front three is a powerful attacking unit. From our perspective, perhaps our forward line isn't as strong as France's, but we do have a very strong backline and we also have players capable of scoring goals."
