"I've said I've shaken hands on a deal with John Delaney (Football Association of Ireland chief executive) and I think that's, going into the Euros, I think it's something that John wanted to do and I'm very pleased to have done it."
Ireland have been continuing their preparations for their opening match against Sweden on Monday - their only injury worry is over Stoke City striker Jonathan Walters who has a calf strain.
Walters trained by himself on Thursday and O'Neill said he would be guided by his medical team over the chances of the striker playing against the Swedes.

"No, he's doing that individual work and we've got a few more days yet. Obviously at some stage he'll have to join in with the training but we'll leave that there with the medical staff at the moment."
So a boost for Ireland before the tornament even kicks off- their managment team are staying put.
