With just over 24 hours until the first game of Euro 2016 kicks off, Germany players Manuel Neuer and Jonas Hector on Thursday (9th June) spoke of their excitement for the tournament to get underway.

SOUNDBITE (German) Manuel Neuer, Bayern Munich and Germany goalkeeper:

"I think we're all looking forward to starting. We certainly need the time for preparation and the training sessions, but the nice thing is when the games kick-off. We are particularly looking forward to our first match against the Ukraine on Sunday, but we are also looking forward to the opening game between France and Romania. We will certainly all be sitting in front of the TV to watch it. I think there's a really good mood within the team and we can't wait to get on the pitch."

SOUNDBITE (German) Jonas Hector, FC Cologne and Germany defender:

"I must admit that I am excited. I am very much looking forward to the start of the tournament. And to be on the road now for another four or five weeks - hopefully until the 10th July - is a new experience for me, in particular being together and being a part of this group of players. I am definitely looking forward to our time here."
