France defender Laurent Koscielny faced the media on Tuesday (7th June) to look forward to the opening game of the tournament against Romania in Paris on Friday (10th June).

"We are relaxed but are also excited to start this competition. I think every player wants to shine during these Euros so we are all working hard during our training sessions and as a group and this is what allows us to be positive going forward."

"We would like to go so far is possible, and if it's possible win the competition. The two last events in France were the Euros in 84 and the World Cup in 98 and we know what the final result was in both those cases. We know our ability to play well, to score goals, we know where we want to go. We are together, it's a human adventure and a spoting one and everybody will have his say in order to get us to go as far as possible."

"Looking at our recent friendly matches we have won 13 of the 14 that we have played. Our confidence is certainly up, we are scoring regularly, we are perhaps conceding a few too many for my taste, but in the last outing we showed we are capable of not conceding as well. We are hosting the competition and the last two times we played hosts, we also won the tournament."
