Seven-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer has put his support behind Switzerland ahead of Euro 2016.

"I am always excited for World Cups and European Championships in soccer. I used to play when I was younger. Of course, I follow my favourite club in Basel a lot. They won the league again this year which was beautiful and I was able to give the trophy to the team on the last day so that was beautiful for me. And now, looking ahead to the Euros, I really hope they (Switzerland) can play a good tournament - just good soccer. I want to see a few wins and if they get into the position of moving on through the group stages that they really believe - then really anything is possible. I play knockout tournaments every single week. They only play them sometimes. Knockout is - everything is possible - on any given day, especially in soccer, with the powers that the referee has with red cards and penalties and so forth. I really wish all the best and, of course, I will be following it very closely."
