Nice security tightens ahead of Euro 2016
2016-06-07 17:55:00 from:SNTVSecurity tightens in the French city of Nice six days before the first match of Euro 2016 at Alliance Riviera stadium on June 12.
As the sun beams down on the Cote d'Azur and Nice, security worries seem a million miles away.
But that is far from the case for French officials that have promised unprecedented security measures ahead of Euro 2016.
In Nice there is already an increased police and military presence, particularly in busy sectors of the city like the main train station for example.
And following the news that a terror plot aimed to desrupt France during the tournament was foiled by the Ukrainian security security services, checks are paramount.
From a footballing perspective, Nice is home to the magnificent Allianz Riviera stadium which will host four fixtures during the competition, including a round of 16 match-up.
It will open its duties with Poland against Northern Ireland on June 12th.
