The French City of Bordeaux have been completeing final preparations ahead of the start of Euro 2016. Five matches - and one quarter final - will take place at the city's 43,000-seat New Stadium, a venue that has been specially constructed for the event which starts on June 10th.

With less than a week to go workers in the bustling French city of Bordeaux have been putting the finishing touches to their Euro 2016 preparations 6).

The port city on the Garonne River in south western France is one of several venues for the hotly anticipated tournament that gets underway on June 10.

Famous for its wine industry with parts of its old town designated a UNESCO World Heritage site -

It's a city which has the highest number of preserved historical buildings in France, bar Paris, of course.

Five matches - and one quarter final - will take place at the city's 43,000-seat New Stadium, a venue that has been specially constructed for the event.

Bordeaux will host matches featuring Wales, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Belgium, Croatia and the Republic of Ireland.

Reigning European champions Spain will also play at the New Stadium.

But the first taste of action will see a Wales side, led by Gareth Bale, take on Slovakia on June 11.
