Rashford's end to season deciding factor - Hodgson / Rooney
2016-06-02 11:54:00 from:SNTVRoy Hodgson and Wayne Rooney discussed Marcus Rashford and Engand's chances at Euro 2016 on Wednesday (1st June).
SOUNDBITE (English) Roy Hodgson, England manager
(asked about including Marcus Rashford in his squad):
"It's two sides of a coin of course but Rashford had that fantastic end to the season and he's a very, very interesting player. He has special qualities and I think that's been recognised by everybody. And it will be very interesting to see, in a squad of 23, whether or not he can bring those qualities to bear at an even higher level."
SOUNDBITE (English) Wayne Rooney, England captain (on Marcus Rashford):
"I think the way he took to, first of all the Manchester United team and the way he's performed from then until the end of the season, is incredible really for his age. I think he certainly showed what he can do in his first game for England. In a couple of minutes he scored his first goal. I think what's pleasing about him is his attitude, it's first class and that's shown around the hotel, on the training pitch. And in my opinion and obviously Roy's in choosing him, he deserves it. He could be a real positive for us."
