EURO 2016: focus on Spain

Spain's provisional Euro 2016 squad travelled to Austria on Thursday (26th May), in preparation for Sunday's warm-up friendly intertational against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

European champions Spain were on the move on Thursday, as their preparations for Euro 2016 in France gathered pace.

The first stop for Vicente del Bosque's provisional sqaud was Friedlchshafen Airport in southern Germany.

From there, a coach took them into western Austria and the town of Schruns in the Montafon Valley.

This will be their base for the upcoming friendly internationals against Bosnia and Herzegovina, South Korea and Georgia.

Del Bosque's squad certainly had an unfamiliar look about it. There was no Diego Costa, Fernando Torres or Juan Mata - all three have been left out of the group.

In addition, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid players Sergio Ramos, Saul Niguez, Juanfran and Isco are currently in Mian for Saturday's Champions League final.

However, national team stalwarts such as Cesc Fabregas and David Silva were on show.

Spain take on Bosnia and Herzegovina this weekend at the AFG Arena in St. Gallen, Switzerland.

The matches against South Korea and Georgia are due to take place on the 1st and 7th of June.

Spain are looking to win the European championship for the third consecutive time, following their victories in 2008 in Austria and Switzerland and 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.

However, few give them much chance of doing so following a dismal World Cup campaign in Brazil two years ago.

There, they lost 5-1 to the Netherlands and were beaten 2-0 by Chile as they crashed out in the group phase.
