Portugal head coach Fernando Santos on Tuesday (17th May) named his 23-man squad for the European Championship in France.

"I have absolutely no doubts that at this stage Cristiano (Ronaldo) is at his best form and is preparing himself mentally and physically to play the final of the Champions League. But I' am also absolutely certain that he is very well prepared mentally and physically to play the Euro because he has a very strong ambition to succeed at this upcoming Euro."

"I believe and we are all going to believe that we can reach the final of the European Championship and win it. It's not a question of faith, it's a question of believing in it. I believe this is possible so, we are going to work and do everything possible to achieve this. I said many times already that Portugal is not favorite, we don't have the presumption to be the favourites in the European Championship, we never claimed that, neither myself nor the players. What you have heard me and the players say is that we have the ambition to fight for that objective and that is what we are going to do"
