EURO 2016: focus on Sweden

Sweden will be relying greatly on captain Zlatan Ibrahimović at Euro 2016 in France with coach Erik Hamren proclaiming the striker as the only world class player in his squad.

Sweden will be looking to their talismanic captain Zlatan Ibrahimović to guide them to the knockout stages of Euro 2016 in France this summer.

The 34-year-old striker, who played his last game for Paris Saint-Germain at the weekend, is in the words of Sweden coach Erik Hamren - the only world class player at his disposal.

The Swede's face a tough task to get out of Group E where they'll face Belgium, Italy and the Republic of Ireland.

Despite the tough draw coach Hamren believes he can guide his side to the knockout stages.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Erik Hamren, Sweden coach:

"Belgium and Italy are the big favourites, of course, and we and Ireland are the underdogs so tough challenge for us and if you see realistic, we'll not go further from the group because Belgium number two in the world, Italy 14 are Ireland 30 and we 35. So we need to be 100 percent, we need to be playing at our best as a team, we need our star Ibrahimović to be 100 percent to go further and then we need to do it in three games in group play but I believe we can do it. I really strongly believe we can do it."

Sweden qualified for Euro 2016 via a play-off win over Denmark, and are not considered among the favourites.

However, with Zlatan in the side anything is possible.
