Feature on Euro 2016 venue, Stadium de Toulouse.

The Stadium de Toulouse has certainly been through a lot in its history.

The ground was initially built for the 1938 World Cup and had to be extensively repaired after a nearby chemical factory exploded in 2001.

Recently further work was carried out on the ground to enable it to host Euro 2016 matches.

Romuald Pagnucco, a Toulouse city Councillor, explains the recent renovations.

SOUNDBITE (French) Romuald Pagnucco, Toulouse City Councillor:

"The financial cost is about fifty million Euros. It is the smallest budget of the Euro (tournament). I think that the architects have really optimised this money to make our stadium at UEFA standards and very pleasant to watch matches no matter the place in the stadium. It remains a stadium with an average capacity as we have 33,000 seats."

The stadium will host four matches at this summer's tournament including Spain vs. Czech Republic and Russia vs. Wales
