EURO 2016: focus on Ukraine
2016-05-12 14:20:00 from:SNTVUkraine coach Mykhailo Fomenko says it is completely down to his players whether they get out of the group stages for the first time at Euro 2016.
Ukraine only reached the Euros via they playoffs, after they beat Slovenia. But their coach Mykhailo Fomenko has a clear objective at their second consecutive finals.
SOUNDBITE: (Russian) Mykhailo Fomenko, Ukraine coach:
"We cannot predict. We have to implement the task we received from the Football Federation of Ukraine which is to get out of the group stages. And we will try to complete this task."
The co-hosts from 2012 failed to do that last time around and it will be a tough ask this time, with world champions Germany as well as Poland and Northern Ireland in their Group. And Fomenko is realistic about his side's chances.

"I'm at an age when I don't believe in miracles. We are taking our business seriously and trying to achieve everything depending on us. Of course sometimes there is luck, sometimes, no luck. Our guys knows that everything depends on them.".
The team will be captained by midfielder Anatoliy Tymoshchuk who looks set to add to his record 142 caps.
And with Andriy Shevchenko retired, their main goalscoring threat will come from Dynamo Kiev forward Andriy Yarmolenko.

"The result we achieve will give the answer. And it doesn't depend much on whether we see ourselves in the final or whether we don't. In this kind of competition, our expectations don't count for a great deal, but we'll all try to do our best."
