File of Liverpool and France defender Mamadou Sakho as it emerged on Saturday (23rd April) the 26 year-old failed a drugs test after last month's UEFA Europa League game against Manchester United.

Liverpool and France international defender Mamadou Sakho has failed a UEFA drugs test it was announced on Saturday (23rd April).

The failed test came after last month's Europa League game against Manchester United.

In a statement Liverpool announced that Sakho has not been officially suspended by the club, however, he "will not be available for selection for matches" during UEFA's investigation.

The Frenchman has until Tuesday (26th April) to respond to the charges.
