SOUNDBITE: (English) Roy Hodgson, England manager (on why the performance failed to reach the heights of their win over Germany)
"You never know those things. Different games of course, different opponents, different team so who knows. To be honest, I gave a lot of different players a chance to play tonight and really aired the squad if you like. Hopefully that might be to my advantage in the future when I'm thinking about players and thinking about making decisions. But at the moment I'm just bitterly disappointed that I'm sitting here having lost a home game at Wembley in front of 82 thousand people after such a good performance on Saturday night because it really is a high followed by a low."
SOUNDBITE: (English) Roy Hodgson, England manager (on being frustrated that referee decisions played a part in both Dutch goals)
"Yes of course I was. I can't deny that. I don't think that the decisions were particularly favourable to us, the second one in particular I thought was exceptionally harsh. The first one is a decision which is given these days which unfortunately I don't agree with. I really do believe that to give handball it's got to be absolutely deliberate and the ball has got to move to the hand, not hit the hand while people are trying to block the ball. I say that, but I am becoming a dinosaur if I keep saying it because I see these decisions being given every week so whether I agree with them or not doesn't make a lot of difference and it was given."
