Following the attacks in Paris, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve comments on the latest security measures, at a meeting with sports ministers and organisers of Euro 2016.

SOUNDBITE (French) Bernard Cazeneuve, French Interior Minister:

"What we can say at the end of this meeting is it's the will that this big event takes place with the popular dimension that was initially planned. To do so, we are increasing security measures and are mobilising all our means at the ministry, at the service of this big event in close collaboration with the sports ministry, the labour ministry and the cities involved."

SOUNDBITE (French) Patrick Kanner, French Sports Minister:

"There is first of course the securing of the 51 games with the new measures announced by the interior minister. We absolutely want to tell the French people and the foreigners who will come - I remind you that two millions tickets will be sold and at least more than one million foreign visitors are expected - we want to tell them that everything is under control with this security reinforcement just announced. There is also the securing of the 24 base camps for the teams and Mr (Jacques) Lambert has insisted a lot on that point. And there are the fan zones which are part of the specifications of the event, in liaison with the host cities. And what was said by Bernard Cazeneuve shows that the fan zones today remain our objective in terms of organisation so the event is the most popular and festive as much as possible, with the safety requirements that will be reviewed according to the news."
