Olsen thinks back to Euro 92 success with Denmark

2015-11-17 11:05:00 from:SNTV

Denmark Manager Morten Olsen spoke on Monday (16th November) ahead of Denmark's European Championship playoff second leg against neighbours Sweden in Copenghagen, Denmark.

SOUNDBITE: (English) Morten Olsen, Denmark Manager (on Denmark Euro's glory in 1992)

"Yes, of course. It's possible for a small country to win something. It was a time when there were only 8 teams in the competition, but now there are 24. And also, nowadays there is not a big difference between the teams in global football. So we can see now a couple of countries like Hungary for the first time in many, many years. Iceland, North Ireland, Wales, whatever...It is becoming even more difficult. Maybe not to the top countries, but it is for a country like Sweden or Denmark."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Daniel Agger, defender (on Morten Olsen's importance in his career)

"I think I've answered that question a few times over the years and I will say the same. Personally for me, he's been so important, you know. Took me in as a young player, believed in me and still does. So for me personally he's been huge. And for Denmark he's still the best manager, you know. It didn't change. So, important."
