Denmark desperate to get the better of Sweden
2015-11-14 09:36:00 from:SNTVDenmark head coach Morten Olsen said on Friday (13th November) that he was wary of the threat of Sweden at the set piece and urged his players to "avoid free kicks to Sweden in danger zones" ahead of their Euro 2016 playoff first leg in Solna, Sweden on Saturday (14th November).
SOUNDBITE: (Danish) Morten Olsen, Denmark manager (On the playoffs)
"These are two very important games for us and I hope we can play well from the very beginning of both matches. There are several things that I'm worried about, one of them is that we have to avoid free kicks to Sweden in danger zones. They are good at set pieces. Sometimes you have to foul another player, but we can't afford to do so unnecessarily in danger zones."
SOUNDBITE: (Danish) Jacok Poulsen (On previous game against Sweden, which Denmark won 1-0)
"The last time we played Sweden we were the better team and deserved to win. But tomorrow we can't count on that. It is a new match. I just hope Denmark can be the better team once more, so hopefully we can win again tomorrow."
SOUNDBITE: (Danish) Thomas Delaney (On game)
"Our team has been in this situation before, we've played several important games. I'm confident as we have done some good training sessions in the past few days. I might be young, but we have experienced players in our squad who have been in this situation. If I have the opportunity to play, I hope to bring some new blood into the team. And I think we have to be more offensive than we've been in the last few matches."
