"(about public booing the Spanish national team) I'll be honest. I am more concerned about negativity towards the team than myself. I have been playing many years at many stadiums. People have booed me and they have every right to do so. I will of course try to change their feelings. If I can't do it with words then I will try to do it through my actions. So when I'm playing with the national team I always try to do my best in order to win as many games as possible and as many titles as possible. I am worried because of the coach (del Bosque), for whom I have huge affection. And I know he doesn't like this type of situation. Also for my teammates because they don't feel comfortable with these situations. But these are the facts and this is the situation. And we have to face them as we do with many other things in our lives."
SOUNDBITE: (Spanish) Gerard Pique, FC Barcelona and Spain:
"I have no regrets. No regrets whatsoever. I would do the same thing again a thousand times. Last year during a press conference I sat here and said that I would love a Barca vs. Real Madrid Champions League final. But when I was watching the Real Madrid vs. Juventus semi-final at home, I watched it wearing a Buffon jersey. Because that's the way I am. I want Madrid to lose every game. This is part of the sporting rivalry that I grew up with my entire life here in Spain. And nobody is going to change that. I love this club above everything else. So don't expect me to change. Don't expect me to say I am sorry. I won't do it."
