FA chief executive Martin Glenn has claimed manager Roy Hodgson has reinvented the England team and has backed him to lead a successful Euro 2016 campaign after the side qualified unbeaten for the tournament.

Script: SOUNDBITE Martin Glenn, FA chief executive (on England qualifying for the 2016 European Championships):

"We won all our qualifying matches - eight matches. So we go into the Euros very strong with a young squad. The average age is 24 so still learning, still a lot of potential to go for. But I think Roy (Hodgson) in particular is pleased with the eight out of eight wins."

SOUNDBITE Martin Glenn, FA chief executive (on the FA refusing to offer England manager Roy Hodgson a new contract before Euro 2016):

"The only discussion with Roy is how do we give him the best possible chances to make the England team super successful in 2016. He's a great manager. He's got terrific international experience. He had a tough deck of cards for the (2014) World Cup. He's rebounded very well from that. He's reinvented the team. So we've got great confidence in Roy and it's all about giving him the best support we can to raise our chances of success."
