SuggestedLeadIn: Fresh from their surprise win in the Netherlands, Iceland go into their Euro 2016 qualifier with Kazakhstan on Sunday (6th September) knowing victory would send them through to their first major tournament finals.

Script: Iceland stunned the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Thursday to stay top of Euro 2016 Qualifying Group A and move them to the brink of their first major tournament finals.

The Icelanders, jointly coached by Heimir Hallgrimsson and Lars Lagerback, host Kazakhstan on Sunday with the Kazakhs taking just one point from their seven previous matches.

Qualification should be simple but Hallgrimsson and captain Aron Gunnarsson are keen to avoid any complacency.

Iceland lead Czech Republic by two points with the Netherlands a further six points adrift.

"Like I said earlier, we've got experience from that and we have to learn from that, not to get involved. We have to keep focused on our game and we're always improving, like we've been doing all this qualification. So the most important thing, like we've been saying, is keeping our feet on the ground. There's obviously going to be a lot of interest when a team is doing well so we just have to adjust to it and learn from it and just take it in, enjoy it."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Heimir Hallgrimsson, Iceland joint head coach

"It's very hard not to check the score in the other games because it can mean a lot for us, how we can play our game. But I think we will always go for the same routine, try to win the game whatever the result in the other game. If we're going to watch it or let the players know, I don't think so. We prepare ourselves and try to not get off our track, just keep the same routine. But of course it will have an effect and we'll probably have someone watching the game in the end, while we're warming up."
