Script: SOUNDBITE (German) Joachim Loew, Germany national coach:
"Yes, the situation was clear ahead of this game. Poland were at the top of the table and we were second. And so there was only one aim for us - to win this game and to take over the lead in the table. I think the team performed outstandingly in the first 35 minutes against a well organised Polish team in defence. We found space on the pitch and played some good combinations. We went two-nil up to lead, but then in the last 10 minutes before half-time we fell a bit behind when we made mistakes. And because of this we made our opponents strong again in a way."
SOUNDBITE (German) Joachim Loew, Germany national coach:
"The Polish team waited for those moments when we made easy mistakes. But all in all, I think our win is absolutely deserved. We dominated throughout almost the entire game and we shaped the game. We made some good attacks, but sometimes we made life a bit difficult, in particular during the times when we made easy mistakes - which must not happen. And we missed too many chances. In the first half, it could also have been three-nil, but it was suddenly two-one. So it was not always easy. However, the team found a way through."
