"Yeah, it was difficult. Slovenia came here and made it very tough for us. Obviously they sat back behind the ball and we had to be very patient with our play and I think in the second half the way we changed tactics it worked and we got the chances and put them away, thankfully."
Journalist: "Two goals for you, you almost upstaged the captain on his big day."
Welbeck: "This is Wazza's (Wayne Rooney) day and it was kind of inevitable he was going to put the penalty away once it came round. Obviously everyone is very pleased for him to get 100 caps for England, it's a massive achievement. We all fully respect what he's done. People say he's got extra responsibility on the pitch but I think as a team collectively we all know that we win together and lose together. That's the most important thing."
