SOUNDBITE (English) Ross Barkley, England

"I have always had my feet on the ground. I don't forget where I came from. It's great to be compared to the likes of Paul Scholes and the Wayne Roooneys of the world. But I am just focused on being myself and playing my own game and hopefully getting better."

"It's got to be that David Beckham free kick against Greece. It was a great moment at the time and I was celebrating on the couch and that moment I really wanted to play for England."

SOUNDBITE (English) Leighton Baines, England

"For Wayne (Rooney) what he has done throughout his England career has been amazing. It will be great to see him get the 100th cap It will be thoroughly well-deserved. I think he has got a really good goal scoring record. He has scored some really important goals down the years for England and he has also carried more than his fair share of the weight of expectation as well that comes with playing for England. Wayne has always been someone that people have focussed on. And we have asked a lot of him over the years as well. But he has tended to produce. He has now obviously moved on to his role as captain - and rightly so - he has earned that right to be leading the team now. He is a leader amongst the squad. It's great for all the players really but particularly people like Ross (Barkley) and the other young players who he is often offering advice to. It was the natural fit really when Stevie (Gerrard) retired for Wayne to step up and fill that role."

"When I was younger, I saw Wayne (Rooney) breaking through at 16 scoring cracking goals and for him to go and make his debut for England whilst he was at Everton was good to see and he went on to have a tremendous career and I have just always looked up to him."
