SOUNDBITE (English) Roy Hodgson, England manager:

"Marvellous really for the work that Greg Dyke, Alex (Horne) and the board have put into this to secure this bid and of course we are lucky now. We have good representation here on the (UEFA) executive committee with David Gill and all of these things play a major part because a lot of cities wanted this major honour to be able to host the semis and the final and we have got it and we have got to be very grateful for that and I think it will be a tremendous spur really for everyone involved in English football to know that in 2020 we will be hosting the finals and the semi finals."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Michael Ring, Dublin 2020 bid:

"But wait until we get all the teams into Dublin we can have a ball and they can enjoy it. I have to say as a nation and a country we are very proud today. We are really pleased that UEFA has selected Dublin and really looking forward to 2020 and we will certainly put on a great show. It's great for the country. It's great for sport and it just shows small countries have an opportunity to purchase a bit and gives them an opportunity to show what they can do to host games. And I think - I have to compliment UEFA this is a very good idea. We mightn't be able to host a whole championship but at least now we have a stage. We have a last 16 game and that's going to be great for soccer. It's going to be great for sport. And it's going to be great for Ireland."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Stewart Regan, Scotland Football Association:

"Sir Alex Ferguson has been immense in his support. He came out last week with a piece in support of Glasgow. He's a Glasgow boy. A football fan. He talked passionately about the history and heritage and for me that was so important. This is the 60th anniversary. It's going to be a birthday party of football and for Hampden Park - which has staged some of the most memorable matches - this is all about football and I really do think that football has played a great part in that bid."
