SOUNDBITE: (English) Roy Hodgson, England manager:

(on the options to replace Daniel Sturridge up front)

"Well I think the fact that we're pleased with our options is shown by the fact that we haven't taken anyone else in to replace Daniel Sturridge. We think that the players here can counter, if you like, the loss of one of our more important players. We're devastated for him as well because he was so anxious to play in this game that when he had to limp off the training session, it was very hard for him. We're ready and it's just a question of seeing what happens tomorrow evening."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Roy Hodgson, England manager:

(on playing well and getting a result)

"How well is the team going to play? Are we going to play well and be unlucky and not get the result we want or are we going to play poorly and get a result which everyone says is satisfactory. For me, I'm looking beyond that anyway. I've got to look at both things. I want the result and if you asked me, 'what would you prefer, to play badly and win or to play well and lose?' I'd play badly and win. I'm not different to anybody else in that respect. We do have to lift our heads a little bit. Performances, how we play and what happens tomorrow night is of vital importance to us."

SOUNDBITE: (English) Wayne Rooney, England captain:

(on playing Switzerland)

"I think it's a nice game to play in. Obviously it's probably the most difficult game of the group and we want to do well and come out of tomorrow night with a good result. We're ready. We've had a bit more time to prepare for this game throughout the week and I feel we've done that well. We're ready for the game. We're excited, looking forward to it and it's going to be a big test, we know that but we feel we've got the quality to do well."
