Former Chelsea, Juventus and Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri has been appointed as the new coach of the Greek national side, it was announced on Friday (25th July).

Claudio Ranieri has been appointed as the new coach of the Greek national team.
The 62-year-old Italian takes over from Fernando Santos, whose contract expired at the conclusion of the recent World Cup.
Greece reached the last 16 at Brazil 2014, going out on penalties to Costa Rica.
Ranieri has been handed a two-year deal, with the main priority qualification for Euro 2016 in France.
Ranieri's first competitive match in charge will be a European qualifier in Romania on September 7th.
Northern Ireland, Hungary, Finland and the Faroe Islands make up the other four teams in Group F.
