Germany to respect opponents France

2016-07-07 06:38:00 from:SNTV

Germany captain Bastian Schweinsteiger will lead his side against France in Thursday's European 2016 semi-final in Marseille after recovering from a knock to his injury-prone right knee.

SOUNDBITE: (German) Joachim Low, Germany Head Coach:
"It's true that the France team create so many chances, pressure a lot, not only in attacking but also in midfield with (Paul) Pogba and (Blaise) Matuidi. They have three great forwards: (Dimitri) Payet, (Olivier) Giroud and (Antoine) Griezmann. They pose a danger. Of course, they are going to attack very strong tomorrow...pressure our defence. They play in their country, the host country. So yes, they are very strong in attacking and they have many advantages offensively."

SOUNDBITE: (German) Joachim Low, Germany Head Coach:
"Given that you are insisting, so yes (Bastian) Schweinsteiger will start tomorrow. He trained this morning and there were no problems. We will have to substitute (Mats) Hummels, (Sami) Khedira and (Mario) Gomez. The choice will not be easy. It's not a perfect situation. That's why Schweinsteiger is even more important for us and that's why he will start tomorrow. If he can't, we can substitute him but it's true that I got a good feeling when he played the last game against Italy."

SOUNDBITE: (German) Toni Kroos, Germany midfielder:
"What we feared? I think that may not be the right word. We respect the France team. They have made much progress in particular during this tournament. They have got good results but I don't think that we feared them. We know that we will play against a very tough and difficult adversary."
