Portugal head coach Fernando Santos said on Saturday (2nd July) that he was "absolutely convinced that Portugal will win" their Euro 2016 semi-final against a "unique" Wales side on Wednesday (6th July).

The Portuguese fans have stood vigil outside the team's Euro 2016 base south of Paris every day since Cristiano Ronaldo and co arrived in the country.

Confident a first major title could be on its way hundreds gathered and sung non-stop outside the Centre National du Rugby where Portugal's players are sleeping and training during the Euros.

Now, just one game away from the tournament decider, their belief is shared by head coach Fernando Santos but he knows that Wales will be a tough test.

SOUNDBITE: (Portuguese) Fernando Santos, Portugal head coach

(On Wales)

"They are a team that is almost unique in these European Championships because 99, 98 percent of their players play in English league football - either the first or second division. There's Gareth Bale and a couple in Scotland and the rest play in England. So they have a quality that is very special, with technical quality, passing with great quality, tactical quality and like all English teams they have a great team spirit, determination. It's their advantage."
