Mental strength is 'essential' - Lloris

2016-07-02 21:22:00 from:SNTV

French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris will not underestimate Iceland this Sunday when the two sides meet in the quarter-finals of Euro 2016.

SOUNDBITE (French) Hugo Lloris, France captain (asked if Wales beating Belgium is a warning to France):

"I think from a personal perspective, we didn't need to see the Wales result to be aware of the fact that you need to be wary of every side in the competition. There have been surprises right from the outset of this tournament. We're aware that it's not simply enough to be a big side and play good football to get into the last four."

SOUNDBITE (French) Hugo Lloris, France captain (asked about France's mental strength and finding a way to win):

"I think we've shown certain values since the start of the tournament. Not everything is perfect in our performances, perhaps we lack a bit of consistency, aggression and intensity. But ultimately we manage to win football matches thanks to the team effort and changes to the formation or substitutions. It was Antoine Griezmann last time, it could be someone else tomorrow. That is the strength of this side. I think mental strength is absolutely essential."
